Biography

Three decades of ENT practice in Brisbane

Dr Kelly gained her medical degree with Honours from the University of Queensland in 1987. She went on to complete specialist training in Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, and attained Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 1995.

Since then she has run a comprehensive private ENT practice from her rooms in Wickham Terrace, alongside a long career in the public system. In 2009 she was appointed Director of ENT Services for Metro North Hospital and Health Service, a role she continues today at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital.

Her clinical work spans general otolaryngology, paediatric ENT, sinus surgery, head and neck, voice and swallowing disorders, salivary gland and thyroid surgery, and the management of snoring and sleep apnoea. She has developed particular expertise in the endoscopic removal of salivary duct stones - a technique available at only two hospitals in Queensland - as well as bone anchored hearing aids and tongue base reduction surgery.

Dr Kelly combines this experience with genuine care and compassion, believing that good communication with patients, their families, referring doctors and allied health practitioners is integral to optimal care.
